VEX IQ Robotics World Championship

What is the VEX IQ Robotics World Championship?

VEX IQ Robotics World Championship is an international competition that focuses on challenging the students to experiment and learn how to design and program a robot that solves complex problems. VEX competitions are also a great way to expose students to valuable soft skills like communication, collaboration and time-management in a fun and authentic way. This is more than just a competition; it's a life-changing experience that will shape their character, growth, and future.

VEX IQ Competition Participation

Our Comprehensive Preparation Program

We recognize that the thought of participating in such a prestigious global competition might seem intimidating. But, let us reassure you we’ve been on this journey for over six years, taking beginners and transforming them into champions. Our students have won at regional and state levels, and we've proudly watched our students qualify for the World level.  So, while the idea of your child participating in a robotics competition might seem overwhelming, rest assured, we have the experience and dedication to prepare your child thoroughly.

Our VEX IQ program is designed to guide students aged 10-14 through a structured yet flexible journey that culminates in participating in the prestigious VEX IQ Robotics Competition. The preparation for the VEX IQ Competition is a well-structured path that ensures every student is well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. The program includes three main tracks:

Levels 1 & 2:
Robotics Programming

These initial levels focus on teaching students the fundamentals of coding and programming robots. By developing strong computational thinking and problem-solving abilities, students gain a solid foundation in robotics programming. They will learn how to program the robot for autonomous driving using a variety of sensors and programming techniques.

Levels 3 & 4:
Robot Mechanics

In these levels, students delve into mechanical design and engineering principles, learning how to build and refine their robotic creations. A significant highlight of these levels is the introduction to Computer-Aided Design (CAD). CAD is an advanced tool used by engineers to create precise designs and prototypes. Mastering CAD will give students a unique edge in designing their robots with accuracy and creativity, a skill that is rare among their peers and highly valuable in the engineering world.

To prepare for the competition at Level 5, students must complete both the Robotics Programming and Robot Mechanics paths (Levels 1 through 4). While the order in which these levels are taken is flexible, it is essential to complete all four levels before advancing to Level 5. This approach ensures that students have a well-rounded understanding of both programming and mechanical design, which are critical for competition success.

Level 5: Competition Readiness and Robot Design

Level 5 is specifically tailored to the current VEX IQ competition, providing students with the specific knowledge, strategies, and skills needed to excel. This level is where all the foundational learning comes together, preparing students for the challenges they will face in the competition.

Level 6: Participating in the VEX IQ Robotics Competition

Finally, Level 6 involves multi-month participation in the VEX IQ Robotics Competition. Here, students apply their learned skills in real-world challenges, working as a team to innovate and compete at the highest level.

2024-2025
Competition Cohorts

Students can choose to take classes at their own pace, selecting the levels that fit their schedule and pace. Alternatively, they can opt for our cohort model, which ensures that they take all the classes in order and in time, creating a cohesive and comprehensive learning experience. We also offer discounts for those who register for the entire journey, providing an affordable way to gain extensive robotics education. There are 3 cohorts that can compete in the 2024-2025 VEX IQ Worlds Competition.
