What is the VEX IQ Robotics World Championship?

VEX IQ Robotics World Championship is an international competition that focuses on challenging the students to experiment and learn how to design and program a robot that solves complex problems. VEX competitions are also a great way to expose students to valuable soft skills like communication, collaboration and time-management in a fun and authentic way. This is more than just a competition; it's a life-changing experience that will shape their character, growth, and future.

Our Comprehensive Preparation Program

We recognize that the thought of participating in such a prestigious global competition might seem intimidating. But, let us reassure you we’ve been on this journey for over six years, taking beginners and transforming them into champions. Our students have won at regional and state levels, and we've proudly watched our students qualify for the World level.  So, while the idea of your child participating in a robotics competition might seem overwhelming, rest assured, we have the experience and dedication to prepare your child thoroughly.

Our Robotics Competition Club is designed to guide students aged 10-14 through a "learn as you go" program. Here are all the benefits of the club:

  • Teaming: we group students based on age, skills, and objectives

  • Learning plan: students will complete a set of activities and assignments that will help them towards the competition.

​

  • Technical supervision: Sundays from 10 am-2 pm (mandatory attendance)

​

  • Open lab hours: In addition to the Sunday 10-2 time slot - if teams want more time they will have open lab hours with supervision weekdays probably 3:30 PM-ish to 7-ish - Exact timings TBD

​

  • Tournament Participation and Advice: Our mentors will work with teams to suggest that best regional tournaments for teams to participate in. We will also have supervisors with the teams during the competition.

​

  • Hardware: Access to hardware $30K+ worth of hardware

2024/2025 Season information:

  • Sept 2024 to Feb 2025 (end of regional competitions). Some teams may finish in 3 months, others may need 4 or 6 months depending on team readiness/skills/selected tournament participation. We start Sept 8th. Kids can join at any time during the year.

  • STEM Academy Cost: Our usual cost is $450/month but we have a special "soft opening" pricing now for just $295 / month

Additional costs:

  • One-time $200 Team registration fee (divided by the # of team members) - this is paid directly to the organizing federation

  • Tournament Fees ranges from $75 per event to $170 for regional tournaments, $350 for state tournaments and $1500 for world competitions (divided up by # of players).

​

For comparison:

  • Public School is $3000 per season + Registration fees.

  • Private academies in Irvine (e.g. Magikid) price is $6400 per season + Registration fees
